Moved this post over from ideaography.net since i will be combining the 2 blogs into 1. I kind of like the domain name still so im not sure if i’m going to keep it or not.
20-12-08 update:
- updated image navigation to include info button and now can be placed either top or bottom
- seperated MainImage and Thumb into individual classes
- updated to the lates tweenmax with tweengroup
- minor updates to code
Some of the new features in this version include:
- Auto generated album menu, that can be configured in the XML file. It also has a built in function that removes the menu when there is only 1 album
- Moved a majority of the settings to the XML file for easier updates
- Addressed ratio sizing on the full screen image
- Included a flash version 8 fla file (sorry for not including that before)
- And some code improvements to make it run smoother.
Demos:

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback and comments on the previous versions as it helped to identify the features that were missing and the issues that needed fixing. Keep the comments coming on this new version as well and let me know if you find any bugs or features that you want added.

PingbackHello
First of all, congratulations to a fantastic image-gallery.
There is a lack of good art-display on the internet!
My problem is that I can’t seem to get thumbnail pagination or scrolling thumbnails or whatever kind of navigation that would allow me to see more than one page of thumbnails. And unfortunately I can’t make much sense of the previous comments (One where you kind of explained how to do it).
Is there an easy solution to that? Or could you include my request in your next release. It would be so endlessly helpful.
I’d prefer learning to do it myself, but I guess it would take me a while.
Thanks
I guess the ultimate extension for this gallery would be flickr integration
Hallo,
to try find a documentation foe coolfullscree (see http://www.paulvanroekel.nl/picasa/coolfullscreen/)
but unfortunatel i can’t find it in your website. I try to run that flash with some picture and it doesn’t work..:-/
will be happy to get any helpful information.
Dear Chris,
I used your Fullscreen Flash Gallery, – it’s awesome. Thanx! But there is one thing in it I’m confused about. I’m russian, so I want to use russian encoding, and it doesn’t work. Can you help me and point the file in the zip. archive, where I need to correct the encoding? I can’t find it myself.
Thank you.
Ksenia
@Ksenia – you will need to go into the fla and edit the desc (in the thumb assets folder), albumButton and $description and change them over to russian font you’re going to use and embed it and that should work.
@lee – Sorry, i will post some simple instructions for you soon when have some time.
Hello
I posted a question earlier above and I didn’t get any reply, you probably oversaw it or were too busy, anyway, would you mind ansering my questions?
All the best
Julian
@Julien – i’ll be including pagination in the next release, although im considering start fresh with as3 rather than do any more updates to the as2 version.
Regaring the pagination you basically have to calculate the amount of thumbs that will fit on the page (or you can set it your self) and divide the amount by the total number of images per gallery.
@lee – Sorry didnt read your comment properly, regarding the picasa version, thats another implementation someone else created out of earlier build of my class. Probably best to contact them regarding how to implement it with picasa properly.
hi! really nice work with this gallery! my question is how can I remove the comments from the thumbs and big images also the info button. can anyone help me please?
This is an awsome gallery!!! BUT is there a way to integrate this with video footage?
This is probably the best and neatest flash gallery I’ve seen. It’s has a simple and clean interface but still does exactly what you want.
There is one thing that stops me from using it though. I can’t get letters like ä and ö to display in titles and comments (letters used in Nordic languages and German). It should be a matter of encoding rather than font I think?
Is there any way to solve this? I’m not an flash programmer unfortunately.
Thank you for providing this gallery!
Magnus: – You can add extra characters by going into the library items and adjusting each textfield to include the extra info as needed
This by far the best full screen photo gallery I have used. :)
I used the one on http://www.paulvanroekel.nl/picasa/coolfullscreen/ before and liked the way the image being viewed occupied the whole screen. Is there a way to do the same for v3? :)
